What did you think of it? I watched it a couple days ago. I was mesmerized.

Delphine Seyrig was…incredible.

Jeanne Dielman, Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, Donkey Skin. Even if that’s all she did, it would have been an amazing career.

His house weirded me out.
elisa515.bsky.social
Except she expects to net $1.5M from selling her LA place. The price point isn’t unreasonable knowing that info.

Meanwhile, that’s what the agent showed them. She wanted a (really nice) 3BR with an office. Not the house we saw.

Nick is the main character is a hallmark movie written by ChatGPT #LoveIsBlind

Did anyone else get the feeling Nick hired an interior designer to set up his house while he was away in the pods? His (beautiful) house was so tidy and decorated it felt like no one actually lived there. #LoveIsBlind

Catchy tune…I couldn’t help but sing along.

Do you think Ryan Coogler watched before making SINNERS?

The pro membership is well worth it. And it's not even expensive! Besides removing ads, I particularly appreciate all the stats that are available to Pro members.

#NowWatching, courtesy of TCM on demand, SUGAR HILL (1974), a zombie horror blaxploitation film. Yet another film I wouldn't have noticed except @odienator.bsky.social is enthusiastic about it.

Thanks! I wasn't complaining; just wanted to make sure you knew.

@tenuredradical.bsky.social The most recent episode of Why Now? cuts off suddenly at about 56 minutes, mid-sentence, before any of the closing comments.

Is this a good time to say yet again how much I appreciate what you and Neil are doing?

To clarify about Wendy’s (former) position at Johns Hopkins University, her title was Visiting Assistant Professor. She not only didn’t have tenure, she wasn’t on the tenure track. #RHOP

Wendy Osefo is redefining what it means to be professorial. Her colleagues aren’t commenting.

Thanks. I’m disappointed you didn’t like it, but I’m sure you’re not alone.

I’m still haunted by it, two months after seeing it, but I’m also not sure who I can recommend to see it.

Did you see the film OMAHA this year?

I feel sorry for anyone who saw it at a film festival on the same day as several other movies.

It worked for me on a late Friday afternoon.

It’s very slow and has little dialogue. That makes it a tough watch for many. And the situation and a lot of the sparse dialogue is very British/Irish specific, including acronyms.

That’s my jam, or at least one of several.

It’s hard to ignore the loud negative voices that compose a small part of the readership.

I’m not from Boston, but I’m a little old white lady who appreciates your writing, perspective, and humor. And you’ve opened me up to many movies.
