The only thing preventing online dating from degenerating into a fetid stew of AIs talking to other AIs as with job applications is that you have to pay a monthly fee for it; the “proof of work” of writing a personalized message is now meaningless
That could also work, but I like court packing because after a few rounds of that things will get absurd enough that we (hopefully) come to a bipartisan consensus on what to replace SCOTUS with
Honestly, the worse they get, the easier it is to invalidate them through court packing; add 6 new judges and every bad Roberts Court precedent becomes an embarrassing historical blip
I understand that they don't want to put a target on their backs by going public, but I also think that if a couple hundred district/circuit judges signed a letter calling out SCOTUS' misbehavior (in a neutral, 'here's why this is bad for the American legal system' way) it could have a big impact.

Ciatarelli and Mamdani have totally different politics, but they’re both running against the same people and tapping into the same frustrations with those people
As I understand it, Sherrill is an awful candidate and her campaign has been an absolute f*cking disaster and between that and many years of Democrats generally mismanaging the state there's a rare pickup opportunity but it's not necessarily much of a reflection of nat'l politics
NYC and VA were probably gone regardless, but I can definitely imagine a scenario where the GOP acted normal for a couple of weeks to get a friendly governor in NJ at least
I think "not wanting to get murdered" is underrated as a driver of GOP behavior: the risks to his members from voting for *or* against releasing the Epstein files must be massive, they don't all have 24/7 security like he does
(to be clear I hope they enjoy sleeping in the bed they made, but still)
