i think eventually, the prolonged exposure to her light would start to turn thancred—but before that starts, after lots of begging and pleading to help her, i think cherry does eventually sort of act like a light vampire and sups on his aether when she needs to eat. maybe when she doesn't, too.

she ends up feeding on a sin eater on accident—it's about to tackle thancred, and she pounces on it without even thinking. that's her protector and guide. of course she would. she doesn't remember much, but she remembers that. and then she's feeding on a sin eater without even realizing it.

it takes weeks, but he finds her in one of the library alcoves of the bookman's shelves. forcefully feeds her meol. she regains some strength but they can't stay in any one place for long—even in il mheg—so they take to the road. the meol runs out and cherry goes without for a while. loses herself.

cherry runs away while he's gone. the idea of eating meol disgusts her, even if it's already been mass produced. especially if it's been mass produced. but she lets thancred think she likes the idea so he is less reluctant to leave her alone. he thinks she's too weak to run away, anyway.

for a while, cherry resides in amaurot at first—with thancred all but breathing down her neck as he watches over her, protecting her from herself and others. but she grows weaker and weaker while refusing to feed on anything. at one point, thancred leaves her to go get meol from eulmore's stores.

they go on a mission to slay the cardinal virtues to get their crystals of light to use that aether to help his soul merge with cherry's, meanwhile elidibus pilots ardbert's real body and causes mayhem and awakens warriors of light across norvrandt to hunt cherry.
