I’ve finished drawing my new ideas to the woodblocks. I’ll be working on these three reduction woodcut prints in tandem as the colors are so closely related. I’m hoping to start printing these lush rainbow rolls (blended rolls) soon! #printmaking #fineart

Working on the next stage of “The Berry Mason”. This will be a woodcut and drypoint combination print. After making a few test prints, I cannibalized one to flip and transfer the image to the woodblock. Next up: carving… carefully!

I just love all the little mason bees that pollinate my Aronia each spring. So, between the stages of all the big reduction woodcuts I’ve been working on lately, I’ve been scratching, scraping and burnishing bees and flowers on some little copper plates!

I have a vivid memory of sitting in my Grandma’s kitchen watching her peal apples. As she worked, she created long, unbroken curls. It was magic. Today as I carved around the delicate power lines on this woodcut, I could not help but think of my grandma. Maybe magic is inherited! #woodcut #magic

It’s not often I get to use a handsaw to remove a whole section of a printing block! The sky imagery is already printed and since it doesn’t overlap any other parts of the print, I was able to make quick work of it with the right tool!
