Lovely to visit St Stephen’s Wallbrook yesterday and hear about their recent restoration project ⛪️ A very gorgeous Wren church!

A few photos from the @bclivingmuseum.bsky.social’s Peaky Blinders night 🎠
An evening of great (bostin) food, entertainment, and some incredibly impressive outfits

Also a great example of #traditionalskills in action, with part of the museum still acting as a glass blowing workshop

Got to visit the museum itself with its amazing collection
Quite cool to find out my little town was once world renowned for glass production, winning gold at Prince Albert’s Great Exhibition!

Day was ended with a trip to Bristol visiting #UnderfallYard, an incredible site of industrial and maritime heritage!

The yard was victim to an arson attack two years ago, and are working and fundraising to rebuild. Learn more here: underfallyard.co.uk/about/recove...

Also visited @bathprestrust.bsky.social. Got to witness their usage of the cultural recovery fund for their incredible interactive displays at No1 Crescent (as well as a good nose in the gift shop)

Had chance to explore Bath itself with a visit to the #RomanBaths (part of of ALVA, a THA member)

Great to hear about the Baths work in community engagement, especially their work with local refugees and social prescribing. Another example of the link between heritage, identity, and wellbeing! 🏛️🪴

@heritagelizzie.bsky.social and I enjoyed blue skies in Bath visiting #FairfieldHouse, THA member, and a key symbol of many local and international communities

They’re working to preserve the memory of HIM Haile Selassie I, Emperor of Ethiopia

We met a local sewing club that meet there regularly!

Spent a sunny afternoon exploring Harvington Hall (@harvingtonhall.bsky.social), one of Historic Houses’ members and just up the road! Learnt a lot about priest hides and the Elizabethan era.
Incredible scenery, history and lovely cakes too 🍰
