March 14 (3/14) is Pi Day. It’s an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π (pi), which is equal to 3.14159265… (and on, and on, and on, and on…)

π is calculated by dividing a circle’s circumference by its diameter.

There’s no official pi emoji, but people often honor the holiday with the… pie emoji!

March 14 is also the International Day of Mathematics, first proclaimed by UNESCO in 2019 to coincide with Pi Day.

Classic math-related emojis are the 4 symbols for elementary arithmetic: the plus sign, the minus sign, the multiplication sign, and the division sign.

Happy National Pig Day!
Did you know the pig is one of the animals with some of the most emoji subvariations?
There are emojis to represent pig bodies, faces, and snouts!

Many animal face emojis, including the pig, were some of the first ever emojis in the earliest Japanese emoji sets from the ‘90s.
And almost all of these animal faces got a full-body version when Unicode standardized emojis in 2010 and gave all Chinese zodiac animals an emoji.

The pig nose emoji was an extra addition, however, and the only animal snout in the entire emoji set.
It’s typically used in a playful, teasing manner, giving it a distinct meaning from the pig emoji alone.
