I can't go, but pass the word to those who can.
Just posted a ton of new info/FAQs/rough schedule and more for this Sunday's* Teach-In in Washington, DC. Keep spreading the word! docs.google.com/document/d/1...

*deleted a post that accidentaly said Saturday! Whoops.
Some do, depending on what they are fishing for.
But Venezuela isn't in the Gulf of Mexico, why are ships avoiding it?
As long as you promise not to touch it first, then you can remodel it all you want.
But didn't they do that when he switched to the army from the marines?
Wasn't that one of the reasons only land owning males could vote? Because they would be virtuous enough to not pick tyrants?
I do hate the waste of tearing it down and like the idea of repurposing it.

But if it does get built I'm also not sure I would trust the quality to actually last, or even survive renovation.
Maybe, but he sounds pretty sincere in the interview where he talked about it.

I mean, "I just found out" is just as plausible as "I've known about it for years but didn't remove it before I decided to run in a Democratic primary when everyone is understandably worried about Nazis."
Yeah, I know the contractors have to be really careful for them and the rest of the building. I'm just wondering if the people in nearby buildings need to be concerned. Or even nearby towns?
I'm guessing they didn't have a permit, which is a problem, but one that NYC faces all the time and will get you a fine. It doesn't need ICE to get involved.
Hadn't even considered this part of it. I wonder how far the particles can travel?
As others have mentioned, what kind of testing for asbestos or other noxious substances was conducted? Based on the time this wing was built, it’s very likely to have asbestos. There aren’t any mitigation measures visible in the photos. I know he doesn’t care, but if I worked @WH, I’d be worried.
Obnoxious whether you're winning or losing?
I'm guessing he's confusing you with the Amish.
I agree this is an important distinction, though the fact that people are moving and buying new homes at retirement is possibly still a symptom of this. My grandparents all lived in the same house their entire adult lives, but the people buying new homes in the '80s are still buying new homes now.
Though his defense wasn't that it was a Nazi phase, it was that he was drunk and in Croatia and it looked cool.

I'm still in the undecided phase of "yes, this is bad, but we found out about it 24 hours ago so I'm giving him more time to actually respond and make changes".
Police have so many tools besides take someone into custody and then figure out if they are a bad guy.

I actually hope this is a bot because understanding this is pretty foundational to the rule of law, and if you don't understand the presumption of innocence you might want to do more research.
So you are arguing that ICE can detain anyone they view as "suspicious" and as long as they are eventually let go it's okay?

Even if it happened to you, the fact that bad things happened in the past is not a reason to keep doing them.
Who's them? There are already plenty of policies in place to figure out who the criminals are without detaining everyone and then figuring out if each person is here legally or not. Is it perfect? Of course not, but the solution is to improve it, not to violate everyone's due process rights.
Depends where you are. Most of the time I see HGTV, cooking shows, or game shows.
My point is that a defeatist attitude of "it's over" is a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's always possible to get it back, and the earlier you fight the less likely it will take 35 years to get it back. But if you give up and say they won, then they did.
"This isn't the worst it can be therefore it's fine" isn't the best argument.
So anyone hired for their job prior to 2021 isn't a DEI hire? Some people need their jobs back, then.
There is no window to miss. Recovery is always possible. Germany, Spain, Italy, all recovered even though things got pretty bad. It's never over.
If you contact your local organization there are probably smaller ones happening near you more often.

But you won't get 7 million people every weekend, so holding less frequent ones does make sense to show everyone at once.
