Welcome to the family, Anastasia! She’s an unexpected addition, a rescue pup we met by chance from K-9 Lifesavers outside Petsmart a few weeks ago. She got pretty sick for a bit, but some love and good meds helped and she’s now a floppy muppet puppy. Even Amber is a fan, @darthbluesky.bsky.social!
A black dog looks at the camera while on a walk. A red dog and a black dog lay on the ground next to each other. A black dog thinks she’s a muppet and snuggles up next to her new dad. It’s me, hi. Petting two dogs at the same time while laughing because the black dog is trying to stick her nose in my ear.

You know, I’m not sure I even saw that one. I remember the Crystal Skulls, which I thoroughly enjoyed until the last segments and then the camp level felt a little high. And I *adore* Indiana Jones. The first three are canon; the rest are fever dreams.

Oh my! Is this “send this story to my mom” level of concerning?

Reminds me of my college days. RIP Limewire. You were such a copyright infringement; you were the gateway to buying so many good albums.

I’ve had some cascading injuries taking me from half-marathon to a two-mile struggle in the last two years, and every time it is HARD I remind myself this; I am thankful for every step and mile, no matter what they look like. Made it four miles yesterday and felt fabulous, finally.

Every step is a gift, isn’t it. Glad you’ve been able to find that movement again.

The correct answer is Hamilton. Amazing that this recording is from 2016. This staging and cast holds up as one of the great moments in Broadway.

I have the house to myself and Disney+ for just a short time until we cancel. What do I put on?

Wrong answers only.

That’s a smart cat! At least he’s got a chip.

Do you have contact info on it? I felt like she such a small cat, the tags are too big on her. But now that she’s not collared at all I’m anxious about her.

Oh my!! That sounds scary. Lilly is not microchipped, and she got out when we first had her. She hid under the deck stairs and was so scared. We think she’s afraid of outside now.
erincarly.bsky.social
But now I worry that if she got out, she would look like a stray or something. We didn’t have a tag on her collar, but it did make her identifiable. She never loved having the collar on in the first place. But maybe a happy medium would be a bell-less collar.

People who dwell with cats! Question for you. Do you have a collar for your cat? If so, why? If not, why not?

We had a collar with a bell on our cat Lilly because we wanted to know where she was. But the puppy could hear her and chased her, so we took it off and now she’s silent and happier.

Amazing! I have one of their sweatshirts from a conference and it’s the heaviest, warmest sweatshirt I own. I love it, even if it’s way too big on me. It was my desk sweatshirt for at least 6 years… it was made in memoriam of our late union president.

I mean, if it’s a post about my dog that Darth shares, I’m all for it. 😆 I try not to comment at all on all of [waves hands] this because of where I work, but I was okay with sharing this because dammit, I was so angry about her story.

They’re also hosting Stitch in Space on Thursday evenings and Friday mid-days. It’s been nice to go be productive with people instead of sitting at home and melting under the draw of social media.

Okay this went bonkers unexpectedly. Just thought my small ALX community might be interested. Managing replies and quotes. I’m glad to see so many people care, but I also don’t want to be in a spotlight.

Also said that many people who got fired and sent home shipped their entire life belongings back to the US… and it all got lost. Just gone. There’s no jobs in their fields. Their entire purpose just vanished overnight. I am so angry for her and all who have to live through this nightmare situation.

Piggybacking on this to share a story I overheard today. Lady in front of me was USAID. Got fired while she and her family were stationed overseas. Kicked out of their home and kids pulled from school. Moved back here, living in a shared apartment, and she’s selling things on Etsy to get by. 💔😡

it actually offends me how sloppy and careless they are. anyone who’s ever been laid off knows the panic you feel when it happens. and while obviously it’s good that they backtracked, these are people’s fucking LIVELIHOODS they’re messing with.
