The Xbox game pass hike was the last drop after feeling really uneasy with Microsoft for a while. I'm out!

Not sure where to go for playing games on my sofa. I wish Steam would launch an updated Steam Machine.

Does anyone want to buy a series X?

Saison took off like a rocket and is going brrr!

Been a busy day!

Picked the other hop plant and brewed a beer. As is almost tradition I brew a big Saison with fresh hops.

It has a 80/20 pilsner and spelt malt base, 600 grams of green hops (Centennial), and will end up around 8.5 percent ABV.

Tomorrow I will brew a kveik-based beer.

Yeah.. if your hands are not red and itchy have you even picked hops? Haha

The yield for 1 plant.

Picking my hops!

It has not been an amazing year for hops but I always look forward to this annual event.

Watched the first episode yesterday and my wife also said it was very similar to Peaky Blinders (which I didn't see). It has the same writer / creator

So far I like the idea of the show more than the actual final product. I will give it a few more episodes. the

't Kelkje is really nice!

I did not know they served this bottle - my wife loves it.

I vote to name these 'Figgle'

Served some of my homebrew Doburoku at Sake Sip festival yesterday!

People seemed really curious about this weird brew and I got through the 4.5 liter that I brought quite rapidly.

't nieuwe diep is bustling! Found a seat under the trees.

Splitting a bag of the rice (the 70% polished one) into two tuns so that my fellow homebrewers can more easily split it.

The rice looks beautiful!

I went for a run after a few weeks break because of runner's knee.

Since the pain kept returning - even after some time of rest - I got some new shoes. The old ones (Brooks Adrenaline GTS) had a really insane heel drop. The new ones (Saucony Guide) seem much better in this aspect.

Fingers crossed!

Filled my Doburoku (unpressed sake with the rice still in it - often seen as homebrew sake)

It's tart and super rice-y but not overly sweet. Hint of cloves and pear (used a white wine yeast). It's a chunky boi though.. very high rice to liquid ratio; more than commercial examples I've had.

I try to set my batch size to 10kg of overall rice, 125% water ratio.

I normally make koji for a whole batch (2.1 kg) and use a kobo jikomi method (3 step additions). The only big steaming session is the last addition step which is best done in 2 batches.

(still a lot of steaming haha)

I'm serving a bit as a distribution hub.

I'll keep two bags (60kg), one 70% and one 50% polished. The other bags will go to other homebrewers. I'm really happy to see the Dutch homebrew scene develop.

Guess who got 180 kilograms of polished rice in his hallway?

Smooth is definitely the one I find most difficult to decode.

In the Netherlands they released the boxes earlier this week. In our homebrew whatsapp group people have been posting which Lidl stores have them and which do not; it has become an annual event almost.

I just cancelled my Spotify subscription after 15 years.

I had already switched to Tidal for quite a while but my parents on the family subscription took some easing into the idea of switching to another music subscription.

Happy to finally to turn my back on them.

Bought the last two packs at Lidl Insulindeweg, Amsterdam on my way home from work.

I know that Walhalla had some beers contract brewed at P&K and they suffer from the same "je ne sais quoi".

Their Loki was quite good when I had it during their soft opening evening; I think that was contract brewed at Frontaal.
