apparently the words Hajj and Chag are cognates! in ancient times a Chag was probably just for pilgrimage to the temple during the shalosh regalim, but the word expanded to just mean holiday. idk just speculating

this album’s aesthetic feels somewhat conservative/americana to me — rock music on “real” instruments, messy vocals, themes of individuality, pursuit of excellence, religion, going to war, horses, anti-drug use. obviously conservatism is having its moment rn, even for bands loved by trans women
