Brexit fanatics are stupid, delusional (they think the world owes them a favour) and exhausting. In exchange for having to put with them I hope they face hordes of aggressive border agents and crazy paper work whenever they try to set foot in the EU.

Fantastic interview with Neil Kinnock. Interesting, human, insightful with some truly poignant and moving moments. It was a real conversation and so much the better for it. More of this @lewisgoodall.com, please!

Things I don't even have to unpack for you. Has there ever been renaming by threat before? Could the roads be renamed Partisan Threat Way? Font of Innumerable Death Threats Way? My Way or the Highway?

Quite telling (of the media’s anti-workers’s rights attitudes) discussion on Badenoch’s proposal to ban doctors from striking. Instead of questioning the MP on the anti-democratic nature of the proposal the journalist asks ‘why not ban tube workers from striking?’

@adamtooze.bsky.social in the FT today: ‘a democracy dogged by fear of bond market vigilantes is unhealthy’.
Instead the government should recognise that Britain is in a period of historic transition which requires new approaches.

Mel-ei Stride should do his homework before comparing himself to Milei. Given the reputation of the Tories for breaking the economy, it’s not wise to compare yourself to a president who’s begging for an IMF loan. www.politico.eu/newsletter/l...

Enjoy it! It’s quite an original story. The beginning is hard but persevere.

I did! It’s wonderful, isn’t it? Her side of the story is also very good.

It’s no surprise that the Conservative Party is in regicide mood. 👇🏼
Badenoch has no class and is politically inept. Surely somebody as ambitious as she is must know that charm and good social skills go along way in politics (at least to keep the troops on your side).

Brilliant exhibition of Lee Miller’s photos at Tate Britain. These are some of the photos she took of London during the Blitz and that’s her war reporter’s uniform.

While Blue Labour learns bad lessons from Danish social democrats on migration, Jimena Valdez draws our attention to the achievements and challenges of Pedro Sánchez's Spain. It's an important reminder that there are always alternatives to nasty politics.

The problem with the strategy of expecting Labou and all decent voters to accept things they don’t like is that we’ve been doing this since 2020. There’s a moment where you can no longer bite your lips. Seeing a Labour gov trying to outbid Reform is no reward www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Some good news.

London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time – almost 200 years earlier than predicted – following the Mayor’s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.

I agree. Even the red background helps. No Union Jack on your TV screen (the flag can be seen in landscape view but it’s not in your face).
