maybe he's been using it the entire time bc it hurts him and dimitri thinks he deserves the pain and felix is like "wait why are you flinching hold on here you can have MY sword instead" except felix does not draw a sword he draws a pillow and a blanket

anyway i just want felix to yank a sword out of dimitri and dimitri to recognize that he's more than that sword even as dimitri is still trying to create an entire dictionary to insist that his dimitri is not that dimitri but instead an entirely different being historians are confused

we still have people that will /swear/ Ike is straight because "gay dudes don't look or act like that" and we have ppl that won't play AM bc "ew it's like he's hitting on me that's so sick" barring cultural differences IS is /not/ going to alienate that audience or challenge them

and i know i say it a lot but like... FE has (overall) come a long way with its presentation of non-straight couples bar some serious stumbles but it is still a game created to appeal primarily to straight gamers, esp dudes, and there are CHOICES that come with that

hello swords are always good!!! the problem is that dimitri thinks he is ONLY the sword and no matter how many times felix defeats the big evil boar with the sword he can't save dimitri but!! maybe!!! he should use the sword to... pet the boar? cuddle the boar? talk... honestly... to... boar??

maybe that is the key right there maybe felix is the crow man hovering around dimitri trying to purge the plastics so dimitri can lead a safe, secure life but spoiler alert dimitri always goes to clean up the beach therefore crowlix's work is never done 😞

what's even worse is how specific he is and how he has to drag everyone else into it. felix sure as heck isn't going to make that washi tape. sylvain is tired of hearing the difference between A5 and 6x9 he's. so. tired.

After all that work and careful planning Dimitri spilled tea on that journal. TEA!! Felix had GRID FORMATS laid out for seven moons!!! How could Felix ever forgive him for that?! Now he has to find an exact similar A5 planner with .3mm gel pens in dark colors!!

Ah yes... Felix doesn't care about Dimitri... that's why he can only be happy when Dimitri's alive, carries him to bed, stays in his bedroom, wants to spar with him, put a collar on him with a little "IF FOUND, PLEASE RETURN" keytag, has a detailed BuJo all about dimitri...

Oh 10000% identification plays a huge part in it in a bad bad way... but that's sort of what I mean? ie - they can't separate the character from themselves or the character's actions so they spend a lot of time justifying everything and/or rewriting stuff so they feel more comfortable with content?

sometimes i think about how like... 80% of weird takes and fandom pseudo-intellectualism comes from this (often) self-hatred and fear of being seen as a nerd or a weirdo or, idk, worst of all, a fujo/fangirl bc "shallow" so people dress up their own fandom engagement as "Deep Analytical Critique"
