I can’t remember what they decided. I do know there was a huge debate because how much it cost to address the toxicity it caused and build something safer. So many people argued that they had been shooting guns there for years and there was nothing wrong with them. 🫢 I was happy to move.

And that’s on top of the lead poisoning they get from using shooting ranges that have no protection from lead levels. A high school’s gun range in the town I lived in showed dangerously high lead levels.

Please you stop. Subjugating the stereotype is a necessity for combating it. I worked years as an advocate for the rights of children & adults w/ cognitive disabilities & as a volunteer my whole life. I’m mom, sister, aunt & godmother to people w/ cognitive & neurological disabilities. Just stop.

You’re seeing something not there. I responded to the focus on “bright.” I exemplified young children and people with Down syndrome because many have an incorrect stereotype of them not being bright. But they are indeed. As evident in many ways. Far brighter than the folks she talked about.

Our YMCA had all old men, at least on the floor across from me and right above. They did indeed stand naked in the window & masterbate a lot—and only at young women’s rooms & female floor upstairs. I ended up moving in w/ 2 gay guys in a triple. They never got a 2nd look from elders across the way.

In 1978, my 13th floor dorm room window faced the YMCA, directly across the street. I can attest not much fun seemed to be happening there. Unless getting naked while smoking and standing motionless in your window while coeds merely laugh at you counts as great fun.
