Driving back down to the airport to head home. Stopped off at Cowens Wildlife Refuge..I'm really lucky that work takes me to these places and really loved North Carolina.
Ended the trip on 82 birds for NC and 35 new for me!

Now on 78 Species. Highlight of Lincoln Sparrow, Magnolia Warbler and a really smart Prairie Warbler and white eyed Vireo.

Daniel Boone Scout trail to Calloway peak 5,946 feet (1800 m) superb hike and worth the early start for the views..no birding on the ascent,.but did get a few birds on the way down

Work trip to Charlotte, North Carolina for a conference. Had a trip out to Cowan's wildlife refuge this morning.some great birds!! American Warblers are next level!

I've been wearing mine for about a year or so (though forget to put them in on occasion) makes a massive difference..I've got tinnitus which knocks out high frequency. They made such a big difference to my birding but agree the wind can make it difficult.

Nice morning at @flamboroughbird.bsky.social Seawatching festival. Missed the Black Tern but highlights 6 Manx, 1 Sooty Shearwater and 1 Bonxie & 3 Arctic Skuas. And plenty of Little Gulls on the move

So many Whitethroat and Chiffchaff on all visits though. And a couple of Willow Warblers.
Yeah, I had terrible views (arse end as it vanished into a bush) of the Redstart Thursday night (no Whinchat )Then headed out again after Duncan posted about the Whinchat and caught up with them ( but no Redstart 😂). So I'll head out tomorrow AM and hopefully get them all 😀
