APD Officer Daniel Sanchez is on trial for killing Rajan Moonesinghe. Officers had no idea what was happening but wouldn't bother to find out. Sanchez gave a command but fatally shot Raj almost immediately, giving Raj no time to comply. Investigation should come before killing.

Sidney Reid was acquitted. Three grand juries refused to indict on a felony, so prosecutors charged a misdemeanor that didn’t need a grand jury to keep the case alive. A DC jury saw the truth: Reid did not assault those officers. This was retaliation, not justice.

UPDATE: Dallas said NO to ICE. These partnerships extend surveillance, punishment, and fear. They also enable profiling, family separation, and other harm, all of which frequently result in brutal police encounters. So DPD- and city council- stood with the community. A rare win.

Saying you “don’t want to get political” might feel safe.

A 90-year-old man called 911. Police showed up and killed him.
They called it “suicide by cop.”
No commands, door closed, 8 minutes before aid.

How can anyone look at that and call it reasonable?

Dallas Police Chief Comeaux turned down $25 million in ICE funding — choosing community trust over federal control.

The mayor’s backlash shows how hard it is to do the right thing in a system that resists change.
