🎬 Snack Shack (2024)

One of the better coming of age stories. Set in the backdrop of Nebraska in 1991, the film is a call back to simpler times, when the world felt bigger, and everyone wasn’t attached to a four-inch screen and chasing clout.

Every aspect of the film is so masterfully done. The acting, the pacing of the film, the emotional depth of these rich characters, and a film score that captures the tension and urgency of the time. The next decade of Nolan films has the potential to be truly special.

🎬 Oppenheimer (2023)

While it’s not my favorite film from Nolan, I liken this film to Spielberg’s Schindler’s List.
Rarely do we see the transformation and maturation process of a director come to fruition before our eyes, but Oppenheimer felt like the crystallization of Nolan’s film esthetic.

🎬 Trainwreck (2015)

The film had some great comedic timing and all the cameos added depth to it. But more so than other Apatow movies, this one felt caught in between wanting to be a comedy or a drama.

Visually impressive and an interesting premise. The film was captivating enough and despite only having an $80 million dollar budget, the special effects were outstanding. The narrative wasn’t perfect, but the film was still fun and entertaining.

Apple Movies give us an underrated gem. The film brilliantly blurs the lines of love, ethics and medicine. It delves into the difficult acceptance of death and the choices we would make to spare the ones we love if given the chance.

While not historically accurate, it’s still one of the great movies from the Renaissance Era with an incredibly beautiful story and one of the most recognizable and beloved songs from any Disney era.

I’m honestly not sure what to make of this movie. By all accounts I should give it a good rating. The actors were great, the set designs were awesome but with all that said the story lacked something that I can’t quite put my finger on.
