Voted Labour all my long life. Had many political "discussions" as a Leftie living in Torytown but I really don't feel I can argue Labour's case anymore. Politics on both sides of the pond is so depressing and exhausting 😩

The Tories, who are baying for blood, have so many scandals that never had an enquiry - Boris's russian friendships, Badenoch hacking computers and lying about Harvard medical school offers, Hunt forgetting he owned 7 flats, Sajid Javid's nom dom status - the list goes on

As a Brit I am horrified at what is happening in "the land of the free". It is a stark reminder that we should not be complacent about democracy. It is such a fragile thing. Farage wants the same for our country and it terrifies me.

My mum rented out a flat for years. She totally relied on her letting agent to do everything - THAT'S WHAT SHE WAS PAYING THEM FOR. They collected the rent, got references, organised repairs, dealt with neighbour disputes, gave her statements for the tax man - this is such a desperate non story 🙄

One of the founders of Paddy Power was on the radio yesterday talking about how bad gambling is. How people go in to put a bet in a horse race and immediately get set up with an online gambling account. Your local bookie is like a gateway drug to the hard stuff.

All this constant talk about polls is ridiculous. We are 3.5 years away from an election. All the things Labour are quietly getting on with and all the corruption, incompetence and racism that Reform are loudly getting on with will be more in evidence come election time.

And Farage's party will get weaker still as they come under more scrutiny. Russian bribes, tax avoidance, thuggish councillors, increasing council tax - it'll start to cut through sooner or later (let's hope sooner).

Fred said yesterday he'll close his shops & make 7,500 people redundant. I feel desperately sorry for those who'll lose their jobs but can only see benefits to wider society. Gambling is an addiction every bit as dangerous as drugs & alcohol. I think he's bluffing - billionaire can afford more tax!
