Not universally unusual, the hurt is done but I can be truly out and proud and my true self 🫂🥰

I’m sure I was a major disappointment but then I was the one who was there to send them away and took care of everything like the oldest son is supposed to do anyway

My coming out story (abridged): my parents picked up the bill for my annual membership payment in the 🇫🇮 LGBTQIA+ rights group & they confronted me about it. Dad threatened to kick me out of the family. Things calmed down fortunately but my relationship with my parents remained strained till the end

I recall how in the 90s I marked the day in my calendar as this was one of the few occasions when a celebrity of some kind would come out. I was out but still scared and felt alone and in need of “affirmations”

Thankfully those days for me are long gone, but I’m glad this day still exists
