The #Flames opening night roster has been announced. Jonathan Huberdeau and Martin Pospisil start the season on the IR. In their place, Matvei Gridin and Sam Honzek will be in the lineup.

Two number changes - Matvei Gridin will wear 92 and
Zayne Parekh will wear 19.

#Flames fans, please remember our team can't just sign a player, the player has to want to sign the same contract. As neat as it could be to have Bennett back or Marner, you need to stop and ask why either guy would pick Calgary with where the team is with their rebuild.

Yes, tonight's #Flames game was tough to watch. Yes, they blew a lead against a team that they should've beat. But the comments on social media are confusing. The Flames weren't expected to be a good team, and have outperformed expectations. We shouldn't be surprised.

At one point this season it was assumed the #Flames would need to pay a team to take on Andrei Kuzmenko. But now he's been traded twice for value.

Kuzmenko has been traded by PHI to LA (with a 7th round pick) for a 2027 3rd round pick.

We expect recent #Flames callups Dryden Hunt (playing with Backlund and Coleman) and Ilya Solovyov (playing with Andersson) to be in the lineup tonight against the Kraken.

It's also expected that Frost and Farabee are on a line together with Sharangovich.
