Spookiest decoration at the "Zoo Goes Boo" event at the John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids? Giant model of parasitoid wasps hatching from cocoons affixed to their caterpillar host.
Large model of a green caterpillar, the back of which is covered by dozens of white cocoons. Wasps can be seen emerging from some of the cocoons.

Last year I started commissioning artists to draw pieces based on songs I like, and ahead of Thought Bubble I commissioned Anna Readman (one of my favorite cartoonists) to draw a piece based on “Train Song” by Vashti Bunyan (one of the two best songs of all time imho):

Hi! I’m Alexx creator of the comics VALLONO and ARRILLUM. I’m really proud of this ocean scene I made 💙
Huge wave surges from thin void against backdrop of clouds. From the graphic novel / comic ARRILLUM Giant water Elemental rises from the ocean with blue and green waves. It’s so tall it reaches past the morning sky into the night. From the graphic novel / comic ARRILLUM Tunnel of oncoming waves in blue greens and teals. The waves have eyes, especially near the bottom. From the graphic novel / comic ARRILLUM Vallono blue figure clad in black stands before void of two massive waves. From the graphic novel / comic ARRILLUM

Love the choice of colours and the delicate texture of the sky. How do you do that?

I liked Dead Mail (2024): the characters are enjoyable and I'm very into a synthesizer as an object of obsession. It's a good choice for an item with near esoteric charge of repressed feelings and unrealised hopes.

I was so busy drawing a jail tiger yesterday I hadn't paid any attention to mr. dropkick having 20K followers so today all the notifications hit me like a pile of styrofoam bricks.

Thanks! It's always a good art moment for me when the weird little details get noticed.

Two things that I really like about Weapons (2025): 1) it straight up does a horror fairy tale with some extra fun flourishes, and 2) I agree that more regular ass guys should have prophetic dreams scaled down to their understanding.

Moderation slapping "sexually suggestive" label on everything vaguely representing a boob makes me curious if a post with the pictures of Venus figurines would get restricted.
