Ubuntu 25.10 should work out of the box for Windows escapees with current gen graphics

This is an important and very well-timed release cycle - Linux feels uniquely ready to accept all comers at this particular moment. Almost like it was planned this way, really.

I guess it's nothing that pet owners didn't know, but it's always nice having data to back those ideas.

It's tough to take the mean of general linguistic capability here because some owners over-interpret or unintentionally mismodel certain words, etc

But certain patterns start to emerge if you watch enough of these - enough to say that domestic animals probably can map abstract concepts to words.

To give an example, here's a video wherein a cat uses his buttons to alert his owner to a health condition, persisting and changing his word usage until she understands - later noting her emotional response and seemingly attempting to console.

I've been watching a ton of videos about dogs and cats using those talking buttons

Some seem able to model their own emotions and comment on the emotional state of their humans at a high level - with contextual appropriateness and so on.

There are... Several feats of reasoning wrapped up in that.
