Cliche, but nothing terrifies Moss more than the thought of somehow hurting their beloved.

Not just because their soulbond makes any pain or anguish experienced by the Emperor mirror back to them... but because he's been through enough already, and adding to that would break Moss's heart.

it's canon that squids in a hive share a color! (that's why Emp's unique pink becomes the Absolute's orange in his bad ending, & why Omeluum's eyes are unique too~)

it's also a good angsty giveaway, if something bad happened to one of them & they fell under another illithid's mind control... >:'3c

Moss originally had red eyes: an inheritance of their night hag bloodline, which they're entirely unaware of. (Will that be relevant someday? Hmm...)

& as illithid, their eyes changed once they re-communed w/ the Emperor. Those matching irises are a visual sign of their bond/'colony.' 🦑💜

We as artists need to uplift one another. Someone's work makes you smile whenever you see it? Tell them so! Your a fan of their style/use of colour/ designs? Let them know!! Artists (especially smaller one's), don't get told often enough that their art means something to someone else.
