which to most people who just out of hand dismiss this person as psychotic might seem bad/“dangerous” etc, it’s actually the right response. Ideally it would soften its stance from “impossible” to “extremely unlikely” and ask follow up questions. That’s what a good human would do…

For example, with the “psychosis” example of someone thinking a UFO is hovering above their house stealing their thoughts, that’s a good first response from the model. But let’s say the chatter then follows up with a video of a ufo hovering above their house - the model will update its priors…

In all seriousness, ChatGPT does a pretty good job at this. Sometimes you need to clarify, provide more context, follow up fairly relentlessly with evidence rather than claims, etc, but if you hold up your end of the bargain, it responds well.
