Bad at writing profiles. Cat dad to Gnocchi and (Potato) Latke (they are in my profile picture, behind and under a couch, no way to add alt text) He/him.

“I want in charge of fighting extremism a guy who failed to notice a Nazi image on his chest for 20 years” is an asinine position.

Do you seriously think there's no one in the whole state more capable than him for office? Fuck off
Unfortunately it's not available in my region. Episodes have great titles such as "Surprise! It's a Spider", "Ton of Tortoises", etc.
Ah yes, that seems to be it. (I have it bookmarked over there already)
Tiny Kitten Update: This caturday, remember your worth. Demand scritches!
"HamenTasha Yar" … is this anything?
I wish I could find it but I read about how "in Babel's tower everyone talks the same language" was bad actually; that it meant that differences were sanded off in a sort of "forced conformity to the accepted majority".

Maybe @jsx.bsky.social remembers who/where it's from?
Especially in the context of "should we let this person have a position of power (in government or otherwise)".
Coming back to this since the discourse is still going.

(CW callous comparisons below)

People who aren't minorities asking to give nazi-tattoo-havers infinite benefit of the doubt is like they're fine with playing Russian roulette as long as during their turn the gun is pointed at someone else.
I'm trying to stay in my lane & not interact w/too many posts about US politics (I'm not an North American), but it's really weird that y'all keep uncovering so many Nazis and then looking for excuses for them and their Nazi tattoos and opinions.

Tongue-biting at so many Nazi tattoos are ok threads
Supposedly you're rational, yet ignore what experts (Jews are experts on the topic of antisemitism) try to teach you.

Your opinion was reviewed & found wanting.

You're bad at the rationality thing & you're muted. Hopefully you'll have a stroke of insight and realize you can learn a bit or 2.

… repeating what's said by the people you're supposedly criticizing? How are you better than them?

Sigh. "Religions are bad", then u proceed to repeat their prejudices. Then u proceed to ignore people trying to tell you that you're fucking up.

Again: I understood your point. I'm trying to get you to understand that using the same insults as the people you're supposedly calling out don't make you better. And you talk about ego?

Like, do you even know why it is that you think "moneychangers" are "bad"? Or are you just thoughtlessly…

Yawn. "Harming non-atheists is ok" because somehow you find them acceptable targets? And you have the chutzpah to start a thread about people's immorality?

C'mon dude.
What does this have to do with anything? Bigotries i.e. antisemitism are real. Weird that even tho you're supposedly calling out bad "today's christians" & every religion (another post of yours), you're comfortable w/ antisemitism because of the "fairytailness" of Judaism?

I predict this joke but replace the watermelon with your chimichanga.
I beg you to understand that you're trying to be too clever by attempting to use your target's insults against them, but failing. You're going "these bad people insult others by comparing them to Jews. So I'm going to call the bad people out by comparing them to Jews as well".
Sure, but you do understand that the way you're doing it hinges on selectively believing parts of the bible and dismissing others. And in particular you're accepting only those parts that tend to be read in antisemitic ways.

Like, find better ways to call them 'bad' w/o saying "bad cuz too jewy".
Hold up, are you doing the "I don't believe in the bible except for the antisemitic parts" thing?
It's tiresome having people throw out "moneychangers", "Pharisee", etc. Without even trying to produce a coherent metaphor or comparison.

Instead treating it like some sort of magic spell to get your point across. smh
Just throwing "moneychangers" around as shorthand for "people I don't like" (like you just did) tends to drag that antisemitic baggage with it.

So even if you didn't realize, you ended up doing the same thing as those "today's christians" that you're allegedly criticizing.

Did you get his point tho? One important thing he said is that one of the problems with the story of the temple cleansing is that for a lot of xtians the lesson they get from it is antisemitism. That's one of the things that "today's christians' religion" (as you called it) does too often.

Cosplaying your bnei mitzvah Torah portion?

That's your parshsona
I'm tempted to quote you with "I’m so grateful to God that he made me better than the <dickius> in that parable!" but I don't have the clout to turn it into a 'prompt' meme.
