Someone told me that their partner is sometimes "rude" to them and I'm like "Rude can mean they cut in line in front of you, your partner is abusive" words can cary weight and def made them rethink the situation they were in.

I think we should get used to using different words when we talk about these dynamics. There's differences between rude, mean, difficult, verbally abusive, and all these are things that vary between perception, culturally, and situational. Also people have diffrent tolerances for these behaviors

We also need to mind the historical context of how calling women rude and mean is a common propaganda used by patriarchy. Not saying women cant be these things but that you are more likely to hear women call these over men displaying similar behavior.
