No no no. We don’t use our coffee makers to boil water 😭. We use a stove top kettle! That’s literally all I’ve ever used when making tea or boiling water for something else like making a bouillon cube into stock or whatever.

All my life I was told I was Jewish, I was stopped by Hasids on the streets asking me to wrap Tefillin, I was invited to Jewish holidays from strangers, etc.

A very disturbing video has emerged from today’s ICE/CBP operations in Avondale.

An officer pushes a woman to the ground, prompting bystanders to react angrily and throw what appears to be a rock at a moving unmarked vehicle.

This seems to be the new normal in Chicago.

Just to put in perspective how vile this is, tear gas is banned under the int’l Chemical Weapons Convention. There‘s an exception for domestic law enfcmt to e.g. disperse violent mobs to avoid even more excessive force. But against a handful of dads? It’s the very definition of excessive force.

i think i would honestly find this whole discourse more tolerable if people simply said what they were actually saying, which is that they think the Democratic Party is too associated with femininity (and secondarily, with black people) and that they want to correct this

I’m curious what the non-trading floors look like, though. Ours are pretty good, they went from super open floor plan hellscape back to more semi-cubicles so you actually have some privacy, and there are designated quiet areas where you aren’t supposed to take meetings at your desk.
