October 31, 2025 🌱 A fallen maple leaf snagged in the purpleleaf sand cherry.

The sandcherry looks like it has magnificent fall color, but its leaves have been this red all along 😆

October 30, 2025 🌱 A cozy corner of the garden. Mushroom log, bright red fallen leaves, fuzzy seeds, and some chocolate mint because why not.

The seeds are on a stem that the painters broke and left laying around. My best guess is frost aster, but none of my other frost aster is fuzzy like that.

I also have plants that just don’t seem to like it in my garden. Blue-eyed grass, for one.

October 29, 2025 🌱 Trumpet vine spilling over the top of the fence.

This side of the fence is deep shade. Trumpet vine likes full sun, so I’m not sure why it has put this much growth into such a spot. But I don’t mind.

Looks like the birds have already started munching.

The dark wood is old growth, and the lighter branches are new.

It doesn’t make the most aesthetic photo, but such exciting news!

October 17, 2025 🌱 Leafy greens get bitter when the plant blooms, so the sidewalk-crack lime basil is no longer as tasty.

But it still smells every bit as delightful.
