Insane. It’s almost like parenting means parenting or something.

Whoa… are you saying like… you… parent????

The homestuck pilot’s writing is basically what if Vivziepop wrote homestuck. Which is kinda what a lot of people weren’t really looking for. But hey- if they toned down the language I think it’d make a great show.

Spoilers: if the answer to this is yes, then yes, what you're doing should be pretty efficient. You can't really avoid the samples for that volumetric effect, but by precomping things into a 3D texture you're getting a ton of bang for your buck here. Eric Lengyel did a similar thing for C4 Engine.

I guess follow up Q: so with ray marching you're doing things in fixed steps, and evaluating your logic. Presumably you're doing something kinda like that, but "logic" here amounts to a direct sample - yes?

This isn't a bad way to do it. I'll tell you that much.

But demanding high fees for these things don't really encourage "top talent" either. It just makes it a rich person's game even more than the now so-called "trump card". Rather than fix the systemic issue here, the issue is now "can you outspend your competition to import an exec"

That's the kind of situation a lot of H-1Bs end up in. Those VISAs don't have much lifetime if you upset the wrong people. So best keep up on those KPIs and keep your manager happy!!!

Without going too deep down the rabbit hole - imagine being given an opportunity to live somewhere better than where you currently live where you might be generally treated less like shit, and it's completely contingent on you being a good worker and not upsetting daddy corpo.

H-1Bs are often used to attract cheap talent into the US. Yes, we see genuine top talent under it here and there. We also see what amounts to slavery through the abuse of H-1Bs. Think wage slavery that erodes opportunities from US citizens moreso than what we already get to see.

Damn, the H-1B stuff is complicated. But once again, commander orange misses the fucking mark. At least that part is simple.
