The teacher brings in candy to place in the middle of each table and students enjoy the treats after the debates.
To practice interpersonal communication & get students ready for more serious debates about health topics, use the Candy Bar Debate. In small groups, each student shares 3 reasons why their candy should be the National Candy of America. I thought this would be a good conversation starter.

Super pumped to visit your booth at #SHAPEBaltimore!
Interesting finding from a former student's research: Missouri students (many of them mine!) report more thorough high school sex ed coverage compared to other states. Her honors thesis explores the link between comprehensive sex ed and reduced intimate partner violence. #HealthEd

I have been piloting BE REAL’s Let’s Eat curriculum in my 10th grade #HealthEd classes. Here are our my students’ responses to questions about eating for enjoyment. (By the way, BE REAL is exhibiting and presenting at #SHAPEBaltimore!)
This student’s response to a recent exit ticket was my favorite. #HealthEd
