Reading Miriam Margolyes’s book “Oh Miriam” and struck by how much I identify with her analysis of her maternal & paternal grandmothers. I mean I couldn’t have had a more different background than her yet her writing is somehow so personal to me. She is a true national treasure. I love her!

Sat butcher's shop so foody Sunday: English breaky so #lovelyhusky got a sausage (we don't have them often anymore) slow cooking beef stew & roasted potatoes,carrots & green beans in the oven to mix with cooked mince for freezer.
Later roasting beef & yorkshire pud. Next weekend fish monger's.

At the end of the summer season Cheltenham Lido drains down the pool and re-fills for winter cold water swimming. But before that, they open it to dogs for the weekend. It's Mabel's favourite day of the year.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

If it is not paid the debt should be passed on to Michelle Mone and Doug Barrowman, their assets should be seized by bailiffs and an international arrest warrant put out for them.

Start of the public transport journey home from Lodève in the département of Hérault in southern France. 🇫🇷 The bus journey to Montpellier - 50km - costs only €2. Buses in Hérault have had cheap fares for years, reasonably frequent (hourly-ish) and constant timetables. People use them.

Teesside’s freeport, initiated in 2021 under Rishi Sunak, has cost £560 million far exceeding the standard £25 million allocation (22 times the standard £25m).
90% profits go to the private sector.
This clearly shows the UK model of State aid post-Brexit is utterly corrupt.
