ys 1 is amazing, i love that they kept some of the tower of druaga bullshit from the original. had to reference a guide pretty frequently but it's fun to try to figure out "well can i actually progress here or am i supposed to do something else" midway through a dungeon

actually im rereading steel ball run and one of the things I really like is how a lot of enemies will just do this. pop up and fight and die. maybe one page about how much they love the president. reminds me of the random encounters from stardust crusaders
