I love Peter Doig’s painting Echo Lake — it looks so Lynchian. The artist used a screenshot from Friday the 13th as a reference, and it also reminds me of Munch’s The Scream. As Doing himself says ‘water reflections function as entrances to other worlds’

At the cemetery near the old crypt
I suddenly caught the smell of sweet pastry
A wild coyote was running nearby
A guard passing us said
That the cemetery was closing
We nodded
But didn’t make it to the gates on time
