i know that shouldn’t bother me but it does. i love him the way he is because he’s my baby and he’s perfect, but i know that how i portray him and what i share is directly informed by my lived experience as a minority.

i know the assumption that’s made when they see Hush’s partner is a darker xaela male whose huge and muscular and i already hate it tbh.

Hush never has, and never will be, a pale dainty damsel. and i made him like that on purpose. he’s socially unpleasant and difficult to engage with in canon 3/?

LRP is some of why Hush is designed like that. he was originally dark skinned, but after the constant racist shit and fetishism people flung at my first WoL i decided against it for my own peace of mind.

and i always wonder about if id made him darker, would he even get compliments? 1/?

Every interracial ship gotta have one white person, every darkskin character in some place of servitude, and every pale character has to be refined and sophisticated. If you mention anything about how this plays into racist tropes, people get mad at you. Anytime it's brought up mfs just do this:
