First 4 miles of 2025 in the bag. Hangover and cobwebs now blown away. A fine afternoon for a run if not a little muddy under foot.

Out with the old and in with the new. Have loved running throughout the 366 days of 2024 and am looking forward to all that I have planned for the 365 days of 2025.

Recently, On Cloudstratus as got them for 50% off. Before that, Asics Gel Cumulus, which I loved.
Out to blow away the cobwebs today around Levenhall Links and Musselburgh.

Looks like a fisherman trawled up a bomb…

Ran along Irvine beach during the week to have a look at the minke whale that had washed up. Quite a creature and sad to see it in this state. Hoping it died simply of natural causes.

Love a night run. Loch Semple beautifully reflecting the moon.
Does your shop have a basement? If yes, what do you use it for?
My favourite run of 2024: A 10 miler with a friend of 38 years including a midpoint stop at an East Lothian beach and a brief paddle in the sea.

Food for the soul.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear jogging pants and a sweatshirt.

Kathrine Switzer’s Historic Marathon
In 1967, Kathrine Switzer became the 1st woman to officially run the Boston Marathon. 🏃‍♀️✨ Women weren’t allowed, so she entered under “K.V. Switzer.” Mid-race, an official tried to stop her, but She kept running. 💪 #running #runchat #run
The storefronts of Leith, Edinburgh. ‘Pets and Things’, a long time favourite of mine, now sadly closed.

First ever track session at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena. Ran intervals under the floodlights in the rain. Not another living soul around.

Lovely memorial bench to Morag Ferguson. A plaque states she was a lifelong supporter of the Kilmarnock Harriers athletics club.

Thanks to the NRC and your marathon training plan I’ve transformed into a runner. Never missed a single session on the plan and your voice in my ear kept me going. Thanks also to Daniel the Engineer and everyone else behind the app.
Wait for it…

Took 7 minutes out from my daily commute to park up and take in the sunrise. Welcome to another day on planet Earth.

Best thing is, that great fireball in the sky will appear again tomorrow, and the next day, then the next…

Is that Pollokshields getting a ‘re-tweet’ from Coach Bennet???
‘Dig Deep’ Tempo

Yesterday I had my first non ParkRun run in Kilmarnock. Decided upon the National Cycle Network Route 73. Just before turning on to it I was faced with my motivation for the evening, a billboard by B&Q telling me to ‘dig deep’.

Lovely night, lovely run.
