my phone just reminded me that DEADWAX came out in November (2018) so this photo is here to remind you that if you like records and / or horror and / or psychedelic neo-noir then you should check it out on Shudder

Re-posting my very long appreciation thread from 7 months ago about the episode of Twin Peaks that Diane Keaton directed.

Short version: I think her work on this episode is very underrated!
connorratliff.bsky.social
February 9, 1991: Diane Keaton's episode of Twin Peaks airs. (S2E15)

It is often cited as one of the worst episodes of the entire series (I disagree -- I think S2E12 is the worst!) but I personally think Keaton's direction is fun.

I am gonna do a thread now of GIFs & clips, all from that episode.

if you ever wanted to know what MGMT sorta covering Suicide's Ghost Rider then turning it into an epic MGMT song would be like, track 3 Destrokk is for you! (it's great)

didnt specify 45 anywhere on this guy so i listened to Time to Pretend at 33 out of spite (it was still great)

A chat with @andyzax.bsky.social reminded me of a real late 1990s artifact, Vangelis's "Tegos Tapes," done for a Greek surgeon as background music for training videos because said surgeon figured just him talking would be boring as shit. 8 hours plus of spacelanes drift!

Still think Antifa isn't violent? Here's bodycam footage of Antifa founder B.J. Blazkowicz shooting a heroic member of ICE who was just trying to protect this great nation. Thank God we have Blazkowicz's girlfriend in custody.

mid 70s LZII - real hissy and definitely duplicated LOUD, so it overmodulates (pleasantly) at times - but hot damn it sounds good. still beaten of course by the RL hot press but it's pretty up there!

alas, the tape is cursed and stopped running after one play through.

If there’s one album that’s helped me shake off the despair of this year so far, more than any other, it’s been this one. Favorite track of the year (for me; the album is from 2019) is EASY LEAVING, which hits me just as hard the 300th time as it did the 1st.

Easy Leaving, by Wes Tirey
from the album No Winners in the Blues

Picked up this Wes Tirey album when the (great) experimental label Full Spectrum closed up shop earlier this year. Fingerpicked acoustic dueling with a verbed out, electric guitarscape, Tirey’s deep vibrato slicing across like a constant tiebreaker.
