Having just finished Guards! Guards!, I'm gonna go with Carrot. He's the quintessential cinnamon roll who has no idea what he's gotten himself into. And the way the jedi are framed across episodes 1-6 (I haven't bothered with the sequels), that's the most generous way to see them.

I'd forgotten he existed. I thought he'd chicken-shat his way to Cancun that one winter Texas suffered the worst infrastructure disaster in years, and taken on a new identity or something. If I'm being honest, I wish he had. Would have done us all a favor.

Imagine if it had done a sort of zig-zag pattern though, and still hit him. That would have been some actual proof that god intended it to happen. And *also* given scientists something more to work on. Win-win.

The first two seasons of Digimon were great fits for morning cartoons, very kid-friendly, etc. It's the third season that started off meta, and then turned into full-on cosmic horror. The only way they could have censored it was by not airing it at all. Still showed new episodes, Saturdays at 8 😀

And and, caveat, I watched this as it aired STATESIDE! So this not only had to be aired in Japan to children in the first place, it also had to be localized and put through notoriously heavy censorship by whatever US company's job it was to make sure it was suitable for kids over here.

And, the writer of Digimon Tamers having also written Serial Experiments Lain...what on earth were these corporate fuckwits expecting, anyway? Or did they just greenlight another Digimon show because the first two seasons did well, and ignore everything else?

Age verification...I remember watching Digimon Tamers as it aired, with Fox Kids' seemingly increasingly desperate attempts at being toxically positive, way before toxic positivity was even a thing, as the show it was advertising to children slid ever further into a Lovecraftian nightmare.
