If we're talking exclusively PS2 and extremely well known and culturally significant fighting games that aren't wack ports then a few titles immediately come to mind that need this way more than PS2 3s

And if we ignore the popular ones then there's a laundry list of FGs trapped on PCSX2

There is zero reason for that when 3S is readily and easily available, has had multiple releases with online matchmaking, and any other PS1/PS2 FG lacking the extensive community support 3S has 100% needs a decomp more

This project screams its for casual audiences not preservation or for the FGC

CPS3 is niche hardware to work with but resources have def existed for a while now and has a pretty active community, while PS1/PS2 decomp tools are def more streamlined tho but that still would not be the original source code at all

I worded that like an idiot, I meant to say the PS2 decomp's goal is to eventually add modern mode the slippi one is just slippi but for 3s without Fightcade 🙃

I am also just finding out someone else is doing the exact thing this project is aiming to do but with a Slippi-esque client for 3rd Strike while this projects goal is to eventually quote "add a separate "modern" mode with a completely different balance"
