Hi everyone!

I'm a writer and 3D artist. I've written 4 free novels and am working on 2 more. I also make 3D models out of my favourite characters. One day I'll release them publicly.

My books and art can be found on my website!

Hope you enjoy!
A collage of the 4 books I have written as well as the 3 books I intend to write at some point. Going left to right they are Ol' Big Ears (2022), Steadfast Spring (2023), Scornful Summer (2023), Operation Teardown (2024), Pop Goes the Balloon (2024, upcoming), Dreamspire Disappearances (tbd), Days of Obsidian (tbd). A group photo of 9 of the models I have made on a pale blue/green background. The characters, going left to right are an animatronic chicken superhero, a robot from the future who has come back to warn people of an upcoming, a former member of a shadowy organization and basketball-loving robot, a Russian terrorist goat king with a goat skull for a face, a penguin wanted for grand theft auto, grand larceny and armed robbery, a ghost with a background in mechanics and portal travel, a snow-white retriever holding a martini glass, a man made of Mushroom Kingdom blocks and expert in cubes and a demon who is known for protecting children and ruler of a piece of land called New Eden. An image of the main character of my novel, Days of Obsidian, Aleph standing next to his Corsola looking out of a church seeing a rainstorm and tree in the distance. I don't have an issue of suspending belief (already have enough problems with reality that its easy enough to suspend lol). Issue I have with fantasy is that I write it. So whenever I read some I have a voice in the back of my head that says 'why read when you can just write your own fantasy book'.

I've never heard of golden age detection era. I have a few novels I like from around that time though, Gatsby, Jeeves, etc but no detective ones. Do you have any specific recommendations?

Tropes don't really bother me. Winterdance looks fun. I think I'll take a look.

Thanks. I'm not very good with audiobooks though I did consider it briefly. This book looks good, just a little weary of these kinds of 'robots in the wild' books (big reason why I really didnt like The Wild Robot) but it doesnt seem like it's like that.

I've never heard of her. Any specific recommendations? Checking her website now, seems to be up my alley.

Any specific books?

Does anyone have any book suggestions for something 'comfy'? Been trying to get back into reading more and 10+ abandoned books later I'm still unable to find anything to hold my attention.

Pictured here: All the books I've tried (or intend) to read this past year.

#booksky #literature #readers
My penguin Ludgren is sitting down on a vinyl-tiled floor, arms crossed and looking frustrated. Around him are all of the novels and books I've tried reading this past year. It comprises books from 1900 to present, from alternate history to biographies to comedies.

Here's the longer description I wrote explaining my problem:

For over a year now I've been trying to reignite my passion for reading by trying different books. Every single book has ended the same way, giving up after a chapter or two and stopping in place of my own art, video games or some other distraction. I have not successfully read a full novel since January of 2025(?) where I read an alternate history novel from the 50s. Since then I've unsuccessfully tried reading a whole myriad of different books from biographies to comedies to adventures and been unable to get into any. The last book I tried was 'I Remember Lemuria by Richard Shaver (1945)' and while that was interesting at the start I don't like reading on my phone and couldn't find a physical copy. The next books I am intending to try are either 'I, Claudius by Robert Graves (1934)' or 'Mastodonia by Clifford D. Simak (1978)'. Failing those I may just retry 'Carry On Jeeves by P. G. Wodehouse (1925)'.

Because of my growing frustration with this I decided to make a image of all the books I've tried (or plan to try) this past year lying around my frustrated penguin. Maybe posting this will subconsciously help me get back into reading by forcing me to see the absurdity of all these failed attempts. If anyone has any suggestions for something 'comfy' to read I'll give it a shot. Taking any suggestions including fanfictions. Not interested in any non-fiction, comics, manga or VNs however. I'd prefer something I don't need a screen to read (fanfics are an exception).

Anything specific you're looking for? Unwrapping? Texturing? I try to do my UVs like how clothes have seams.

A cool trick I saw once is to take an object and project it's UVs from a front-on look. Then take that UV and stick it over a vertical gradient so you get some cool looking gradient texture.

Hm. Can't say I've seen any albums that state not to put the art anywhere. Usually just see that with other pieces. I suppose if you just always included media links in whatever you add it should be good.

If the person puts their music on DSPs the art is already on all sorts of sites.

@foxzeta.bsky.social In case you ever needed something to end your stream on lol.

Has anyone come after you regarding it? I figure most artists are just chill about it or completely unaware the site exists. I figure you're fine.

Been busy as of late. Got texturing lessons from a professional and mapped out the next website update. And on Saturday I'm gonna begin my Bluesky Anniverssary + Halloween plans.

The nightmare of Filmstripland. The Perbadog.

Man that was a brutal slideshow. Nice hat though.

W-wait. There's ANOTHER Megaman RPG? I gotta play this asao.
hadair.bsky.social
Exactly. Just keep pushing sliders until it works and it's a mystery as to why. (though on my case I just gave up and ripped the mechanism out of another model). Which would probably be like ripping the VST settings off one song for another lol.

Nevermind. Still broken. ARGH.
hadair.bsky.social
You'd think after rigging a whole bunch of characters the exact same way I wouldn't keep running into glitches. Had to correct a bone movement with a driver that uses the expression '-5*(var-1.7119)'. Genuinely annoyed this worked. No idea why it works either. But now this character can blink. Yay.

I've acquired an iPad. Now I need to get a app for it that uses LIDAR so I can scan all these European biscuits for the sole purpose of making a render of my penguin eating them.

I want to make another render with my Hex model. Anyone got any ideas? Open to it so long as I don't have to model any new characters (that queue is already full).

"My it seems as if everything is made of blocks. Such a strange land....I look to have a big job ahead of me."

So far the only #Mario character I've ever modeled. It will probably stay that way.

A close-up portrait shot of Broque Monsieur, a block collector from the Mushroom Kingdom. He has a giant moutaschs in the shape of an upside-down V. He is made of yellow blocks with rivets in the corners. He has two large eyes that are looking up as he is pondering with a raised eyebrow. His index finger is on his chin as he thinks. There is a minecraft scene behind him depicting a mountain, pond and a single blue present. It is blurred with depth of field. Also seen is the red bowtie on his chest and black bowler cap on his head.

Silky gem has to be one of the most disgusting things I've ever tried. Nasty stuff.
hadair.bsky.social
Yeah. It's tough. Idk how people do it and keep their wits. I guess that's why a lot of people just hire a social media person. (though impossible to do for people like you and me). Its the only part of this whole game I dislike.

Here's a render of my favourite Minecraft character. It's a shame she never got her chance to shine. Though she didn't really fit in with the game even back then. Character by Dock. Model by me.

A screenshot of a minecraft map. The camera is facing a hill and is tiled slightly. In the shot you can see a hill, a hill behind that, a field of cactus and a large obisdian and cobblestone castle behind it. Hiding amongst the cacti you can see a Creeper. There is a wolf in the bottom left of the image. There is a bee flying high in the air. There is a fox grazing on one of the mountains. On the right of the image and taking the viewer's eye is Rana. She is a blocky girl wearing a green raincoat, pink shirt and pants underneath, with pink socks, green rainboots and wearing a frog hat. The tongue of the frog is the lip of the hat that is covering her eyes. She looked happy and is frolicking in the minecraft area, happy to be here.

I suppose you could try going in the opposite direction.

Be like "Did you hear about [insert latest culture war topic here]? How about you chill out with some filmstrips?"

Or even argue that life was simpler with filmstrips?
