Meet the artist! I’m Hatty, a third year illustration student and skilled artist, craftsman and bookbinder. I can make lots of different things but especially love nature/animal themes #art #illustration #characterdesign #meettheartist
It was, bookbinding is time consuming but fun!
Haha it seems so! Everyone either wants me to teach them or is googling how to make them. Glad you liked it, I’ll definitely make more and may also consider selling them someday
Yup! I did the covers and also sewed the pages together to make a book
Hmmmm I can kinda see it

Haha I would definitely eat those
Couple FAQs about my kettle stitch book:
- “Is it for sale?” Unfortunately no as it‘s part of my coursework. I have lots of uni work rn but once it’s calmed down I may consider selling some
- “Can you teach us?” I’d love to! When my workload isn’t crazy I may upload a tutorial vid

No spine sounds interesting… what was the stick used for?
Please ignore this account, they’re a spambot :/
Thank you for all your wonderful comments on my work :) although I don’t have time to reply to them all, I really enjoy reading them
Thank you! Sounds interesting, I’ll have to check it out sometime. I might learn a few things I can use to help me improve my sketchbook making
No way that’s so cool! I love the design, looks like longstitch to me but they’ve added fancy stuff like the little zigzags and uneven stitching which I haven’t tried yet haha.

Reminds me of this leather sketchbook I made, it has kinda similar fastenings

More bookbinding! Here’s a longstitch hardcover I made a month ago (sorry it’s really close up, BlueSky wouldn’t let me upload otherwise) #art #illustration #bookbinding #kettlestitch #sketchbooks #bookart
Thanks for the advice! I’ll have to have a look once my workload calms down a bit
More of my Japanese-style sketchbooks, these were part of a set I gave to some friends #art #illustration #bookbinding #japanesesketchbooks #sketchbooks #handmade #japan
…where do you see a dog? haha
Thank you! I’d love to but I’m still unsure about how to sell my work & the steps involved, plus I have a lot of uni work so I don’t have time rn. (Also I made this book for my course so I have to give it to the uni). Maybe someday you guys will be able to buy them!
Maybe when my uni workload calms down a bit, I can make a tutorial video for you guys!
It’s not for sale unfortunately, I still have to learn how you’d go about selling your own works, and I have a lot of uni work to catch up on. Maybe in the future once I know how!

(Besides, this book is part of my coursework & I won’t pass if I don’t hand it in, so I can’t sell it anyway)
Haha maybe when I’m not so swamped with uni work, I can make a tutorial video and post it here. I’ve already got another one half-finished I could use…
