How toxic is the Phighting community?
Met a guy who was being extremely rude at most chances he got. He also claimed that it was all "jokes".
I haven't played enough to know, but I think this is the first guy I've met who acted like this.
Is this common in the community, or was it a bad apple?

If you plan on doing Mann Up, join as Heavy or Soldier and politely ask what upgrades to get. High tours are far more patient with newbies who ask for help. Also, Heavy is hard to screw up (just don't buy Knockback Rage, it's bad) while allowing you to watch what others do.

And never play Spy.
