SO took this photo of me nearby one of the hundred (or more) trees that were strewn across the valley. It appears that most of the damage was done during a typhoon in 2024.

I shot almost all my photos on film, so I'll have to see if they turned out okay in a week or two after they get developed.
Until then, here's a photo of my recovering from a cold SO, exhausted after a grueling 4.5 hour drive, sleeping for 6 hours in a tent, and hiking for 2.5 hours.

Finally back after a 4 hour scooter drive from Smangus. Man, that place is so remote.
It also got hit really really hard by the typhoon rain I think. So many really old trees were completely washed out. This clearing used to be forested from what I remember. The oldest ones are still there though.

Anyway, it's time for bed, y'all. Gonna wake up early, catch some baseball, then drive 4 hours into the mountains and camp at the most remote indigenous community in Taiwan to see a 2500 year old tree and its friends.

Might be a bit late, but if you can get Xofluza, it'll stop the flu in its tracks. That stuff rules and it's a single dose. 24 hours and my partner was like at 85% better. It stopped me from getting full on flu when I took it.

Heading up to Smangus this weekend. I went once back in 2017.

I'm stoked to go again because I've got: -a new (to me) Zuiko f3.5 macro lens for my Olympus

-a brand new tent that is a 3p palace for 2p

-AND I'm gonna get to wear pants and a jacket. (can summer go away please?)
