The absurdity of Lambeth Labour's decision couldn’t be more obvious and we’re not staying quiet.

It’s time for Lambeth, and in particular Cllr Danny Adilypour, to do the right thing.

On @lbc.co.uk this morning, Jules spoke with Matthew Wright about the fight to protect HfL Tenants from eviction.

Let’s be clear: making residents homeless helps no one — least of all those already without a home.

This is a direct breach of Labour’s own pledge to protect renters’ rights. Section 21 evictions are due to be abolished under Labour’s Renters' Rights Bill, which will become law in early 2026.
🚨 Lambeth families are being forced out of their homes.

Lambeth Council is issuing Section 21 eviction notices, pushing dozens into homelessness - despite hundreds of empty homes on our estates.

Stay tuned for Councillor Adilypour’s response. Spoiler: He did exactly what Manuel predicted he would!

So what do you think? Sounds like a sound plan, right? Definitely not immoral, harmful, or anything. Perfectly reasonable to make one group homeless to (temporarily) house another, and then self-congratulate yourself through blatant virtue signalling 👀

(4/5)
Why? To turn our homes into temporary accommodation for those ‘in most urgent need.’

The issue? That’s exactly who WE will become IF evicted.

The outcome? Dozens of families and vulnerable tenants end up homeless.

(3/5)
The line? Labour-led Lambeth Council must evict dozens of families and vulnerable tenants.

How? Through Section 21 evictions, otherwise known as ‘no fault evictions’, that are soon-to-be banned by current Labour government.

Watch Manuel speak truth to power in his incisive deputation ✊ He delivered it on behalf of HfL Tenants at the latest full Lambeth Council meeting.

As evident by Manuel’s speech, the council’s argument collapses under scrutiny.

Join us this Wednesday at 6pm in front of Lambeth Town Hall where later that evening Manuel will give a deputation during the full council meeting!

Together, let's show Lambeth Council we will not let it displace and force us out of our communities ✊

(4/4)
In this video, Manuel discusses the distress this situation is causing him and his fellow HfL Tenants as he challenges the council's narrative.

The council claims it wants to house the homeless yet conveniently omits the fact that it'd be making us homeless in the process.

(3/4)
This Labour council set up a 'private' company, Homes for Lambeth, to pose as a 'private' landlord. It is now using Section 21 notices, soon-to-be abolished by the current Labour (!) government, to displace multiple families and vulnerable tenants from five different Lambeth estates.

(2/4)
Manuel and his family are amongst dozens of HfL Tenants currently facing homelessness after getting a 'no fault' eviction notice from Lambeth Council.

(1/4)
Let's end this nonsensical charade before the lives of dozens of families get needlessly uprooted and Lambeth communities destroyed.

Meanwhile, HfL Tenants continue to be threatened with 'no fault' evictions from Labour Lambeth Council.

If evicted, the affected tenants will end up homeless, and it will be Lambeth Council's responsibility to rehouse them.

Our inbox is open, Sadiq!

@zoegarbett.bsky.social asks the Mayor of London why he hasn't gotten back to HfL Tenants yet, despite committing to do so immediately after the State of London Debate 2025.

A month has now passed since Khan made his promise, yet neither him nor his Deputy Mayor have followed it up.

(1/3)
You can help us by tagging @london.gov.uk in the comments! Let's urge Sadiq to promptly get in touch with HfL Tenants and immediately halt Lambeth Council's cruel eviction proceedings against its own vulnerable tenants ✊

Two weeks have now passed since the State of London Debate. After being asked about it by @lbc.co.uk’s @mrjamesob.bsky.social, the Mayor of London committed to follow up on our case immediately. We’ve reached out to him and are still awaiting a reply. The ball’s now in Sadiq’s court.

(2/3)
Appreciate how Sadiq Khan’s thoughts went straight from Lambeth Council to unscrupulous landlords! Coincidence? Don’t think so!

(1/3)
In case you missed it, listen here to catch Conor brilliantly represent HfL Tenants on @lbc.co.uk this morning!
It is Lambeth Council that’s actively choosing to uproot dozens of families, evict them via soon-to-be abolished Section 21, and socially cleanse its vulnerable residents out of the borough.

It’s gentrification in its purest form, and we will continue to resist!

(3/3)
In tomorrow’s oral hearing, a judge will decide whether our claim for judicial review will proceed to a full hearing. No matter the outcome, Lambeth Council continues to be our de facto landlord.
