The Athletic report recapping Saturday's timeline is just one of multiple instances where NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman failed to care for player safety this season.

Something has to change.

New from me: The NWSL is failing to meet the moment.

The NWSL is failing to meet the moment.
The NWSL’s growth mindset has continually come at the expense of player safety.

Flames-Blues jersey matchup might be the best in the world

Working through my USMNT rewatch and I'm still impressed with how they used their strength advantage in the second half, winning balls and then shielding possession to buy time.

Chris Richards play at Palace had already put this thought in my head but he is well on his way to becoming an elite CB.

Norwegian fans unfurl banners in support of Palestine as teams prepare to enter pitch for World Cup qualifier in Oslo. About 1,500 people joined pro-Palestinian march from city centre to the stadium earlier in the day.

USA LEVEL IN AUSTIN 🤩

BEAUTIFUL teamwork on display as Tillman picks out Balogun for his second #USMNT goal of 2025!

Matt Freeze might cement the starting job with that claim through pressure.

Those touches as Tessman bought a little bit of time were so nice too.

Feels like the chemistry is building.

I love Weah recognizing the threshold for a foul over in that corner and just lowering the shoulder to win the ball back.

I did pontificate about this in the newsletter this week. Sears is the goalscorer for all intents and purposes, so where do they add to actually become more clinical as a team? Because I Yanez doesn't ask Weber, or whoever, to do the typical 9's work.

Just have to always feel like the underdogs.

Just wild work to grab M.A. Vignola in that trade as well. She has instantly fit into what Portland is trying to build.

Seb Hines needs to dwell on that Ovalle-Charley chemistry

I'm going to have nightmares of these AI dogs telling me to gamble my life savings on the Browns hitting the over.

Everytime I write about Racing Louisville taking THE step they lose a very winnable match.

The movement of Tessman and Morris has been interesting. Pochettino having them cover for Weah and Arfsten's defensive deficiencies by sliding out wide, providing the width in front of the back 3 as they methodically prod into the attacking half.

The process has been encouraging.

Balogun can be a target man on an island while the US try to play through pressure, and he can track back into the midfield and create for himself. No one else in the player pool possesses that flexibility.
