I find there's something similar ww -> sn stories (biased), there's a sense of worshipful adoration that sn is just extraordinary and incredible and the antithesis of something the narrator subdues about themselves

- I read the preceding scenes to orient myself and usually rewrite the last paragraph to build momentum into a new scene
- I reread the entire chapter / story prior to writing the last scene (catch all loose plot threads/motifs/open parallels)
- I edit I go 🫠 the first draft usually near final

writer community post — do you reread what you’ve written so far while drafting? or try to push through before going back? the typical advice is don’t edit while you go but I know it’s a spectrum and I’m curious where people fall on it

science fiction is my favourite genre bc sometimes the characters are flat, the dialogue is bad, the plot is contrived and the dynamics are primary school theatre, but if the ideas are good 😌 (downloads into mental library for future fic deployment)
