PSA. For the time being, I shall be taking a leaf out of the late Scott Walker's book and activating my social media accounts once a week. The rest of the time, my virtual phone will be disconnected. If you wish to get hold of me, I am here on Wednesdays. Thank you for your understanding.

Under these circumstances, I feel there’s a big difference between those two options and the latter does harm. But that’s just one highly sensitive neurodivergent man’s opinion!

Factor in Mablethorpe and it's a practically a golfing holiday.

Ugh, truly we are strangers to ourselves.

Skegness contains the highest density of miniature, crazy and adventure golf courses per square mile of any town in the UK - FACT.

Readers of my first book Tilting at Windmills may be interested to learn that the inner sleeve of @warringtonruncorn.com’s new LP depicts the ‘betong’ category of miniature golf course, as utilised in international minigolf tournaments to this day. Hats off to that dead town planner!

I think blocking someone you know without any explanation crosses the line from self-care to unkindness. It leaves the other person stuck in their own head, trying to make sense of the silence.

It’s interesting that many of those replying to this post assume I am considering blocking someone I know. I’m not. I’m thinking of the blocked person, who potentially is left with no idea what they’ve done “wrong”. (Don’t assume they’ll know.)

Social media etiquette enquiry. When you block someone you know IRL or through professional circles, do you owe them an explanation? Or is it OK to leave them guessing?

You did the right thing all the way down the line IMO.

None necessary, as far as I’m concerned we dealt with it on the day x
iammilliam.bsky.social
Yes, I think the latter is the more difficult path but the right one.
iammilliam.bsky.social
Fwiw I think that was the right thing to do. May I ask what happened next? Don’t answer if you don’t want to get into it.
iammilliam.bsky.social
I think your general policy is reasonable. 👍

It’s one thing to owe someone something and another actually to pay up.

See my reply to Tracey. Nothing is obvious to the victim.
