If you care monomaniacally enough about one thing the delightfully interconnected universe will almost always reward you (and punish anyone you chat with).

I don't think he watched much ITV in the Summer of Death and Adams had recently approached him for Who so he may have been more inclined to tune in...

Only one of them features the Iron Maiden from The King's Demons and The Black Adder (but with a different face bunged on, apparently it's identifiable by a dent on the body).

Both secretly partially written by writers who made their names doing jolly clever comic radio thingies, often dragooning scientific ideas into witty dialogue.

Apparently, a bit of a meme from the Sky One comedy series Brassic.

Sometimes, when faced with the awesome majesty of the natural world, one feels an urge to leave, like Ozymandias King of Kings, some marker in eternity of one's eye-blink human life.
"I was here. I defied Nature, I made my own rules. I was known. I shall be remembered."
A sign in the woods. It prohibits fire barbecues and camping.
Across the top someone has chosen to inform us that "Carl Slater bums dogs".

Yeah, right- "livee" is definitely an actual word, fatfingers.

Even in the relatively anonymous realm of online discourse, you can always identify young people with their appallingly callow opinions and comtemptible lack of livee experience by their misguided belief that Sweep is obsessed with sausages rather than the bones that tradition dictates.

I liked The Other One a lot.

On episode three of The Hack. As a fan of hard to spot moles in TV drama I have to applaud the pale one they've glued under David Tennant's right eye to replicate the one the real Nick Davies has.

Digital on-screen graphics or delightful woofers?

I really want a preorder link before I wake up.

@garygillatt.bsky.social I think you can take the rest of the month off after "Nietzsche versus nurture".

I stalled on this for decades. I'd been a bit perturbed by part of a reading on Jackanory about the Shadow but bought it because the doublet and hosey cover suggested something Narniaish. Literally began again last week. Near end now and worry we won't hit the Immanent Grove imminently. Good stuff.

A writer writes. Absolutely not about the process of getting a film made.
Garth Marenghi: I know writers who use subtext and they're all cowards.
DALGLISH: How much is dirt and how much is gold?

DILLON: You don't know until you finish the process. That's the gamble.

Reader, I laughed. Many times.

Ooh, new Partridge. Brain butterflies away... I always like a Partridge where you get to imagine the editorial process- eg. Knowing Knowing Knowing Me with Alan Partridge (the unjustly forgotten radio behind the scenes doc).

A vague hint of missing Avengers season 1 episodes still being out there means I'm now regrettably forced to drink wine to ensure a good night's sleep. My life...

Oh oh oh. I so fondly remember the evening he got to see the other Tunnel of Fear! A lechier Steed than fan memory recalled, a plot less worked through than Dorney imagined.
I'd love the proper version of one of my two reinventions to turn up. I suspect Dragonsfield might've been particularly good.

Listening to an audiobook where English people are saying Xavier as Exavier rather than Zavier. This is however a Xavier who speaks with a US accent so there's possible wriggle room as we go on. He may have persuaded people to address him as an Xavier instead of a Zavier.

#RunBore 15km run. I am knackered. Top running list banger was this one (for cool down period with mild euphoria) indie cinema's top ice cream van chime anthem since Badlands. youtu.be/7BWoQJbPkwQ?...

A Woman of No Importance the proto Talking Heads monologue Routledge stars in is so very very good and probably what made Wood want to bagsy her. She watched a lot of telly.
