CollabFest 2025 is plugging right along! Tonight is the 2nd of 2 Performer Showcases. A lot of newer music will be heard at this one - 3 of the composers were born in the 1980s!
The first of two CollabFest Performer Showcases happens tonight at 7:00pm Voertman Hall. Featuring performers of Beach, Messiaen, Wolf and more by IKCAS superheroes and their partners!
CollabFest 2025 begins today with the Teaching Mentorship Intensive! Many thanks to mentors Elvia Puccinelli, Ann Baltz, Anne Epperson and more for working with several IKCAS members this afternoon. We welcome members from across 6 continents to Denton today!
The CollabFest Performer Showcase on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7:00pm will feature Messiaen’s Theme and Variations for Violin and Piano. We are excited to hear Haerim Elizabeth Lee and Michael Bukhman perform this piece!
Another feast for the ears at our CollabFest Performer Showcase will be soprano Ísis Jarnicki de Carvalho and pianist Peter Douglas performing a work by Stacy Garrop. This Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7:00pm!
The recitals are STACKED! Tenor Brian Downen and pianist Ann DuHamel will perform 2 songs by Jorge Martín on Thursday’s CollabFest Performer Showcase at 7:00pm.
CollabFest 2025 is upon us! One of the last sessions of the conference will be from four SuperHero contributors to the hybrid book “Accompaniment in America: Contextualizing Collaborative Piano Practices.” Kelly, Puccinelli, Robards and VanderHart will be there, Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2:30pm!

Some great repertoire is being performed at our CollabFest Performer Showcases, including the Dutilleux Sonata for Oboe and Piano by Thacher Schreiber and Louisa Peng. You can catch this performance at the first of two recitals, on Thursday, October 16 at 7:00pm.
Another SuperHero celebrity appearance! Tomoko Kashiwagi will present: “Interpersonal Musicianship in Collaborative Piano: Cultivating Active Listening Skills” on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 1:00pm.
The SuperHero Duos just keep on coming! Jordan Langehennig and Nataliya Sukhina will team up to present “Secular and Sacred Folk Melodies: Reconnecting with the Fundamentals of Expressive Storytelling” on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 11:30am.
Pianist Maggie Hinchliffe and soprano Rose Kearin will serenade us with two songs by Ben Morris on the first CollabFest Performer Showcase: Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7:00pm.
CollabFest 2025 is one week away! On Saturday, Oct. 18 at 11:00am, the inimitable Christine Teng will present “Instrumental Duo Repertoire for Developing Pianists: Designing the Rubric.” We can’t wait, Dr. Teng!
Another great session about another part of the globe! Regiane Yamaguchi will illuminate us with “Universal Challenges and Solutions - A Perspective from the Brazilian Collaborative Piano Association” on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 10:30am, during CollabFest 2025.
