What is the societal cost of “dramatically expedited regulatory review?” And how will that happen with fewer employees at the FDA?
Good point. Dumb billionaires or shakedowns could have funded it. Who knows, maybe some “ballroom funds” paid for it.
5) wasted educational resources on his culture war ambitions;

6) shows no support for Federal Employees;

7) did not join the SNAP lawsuit against the Federal Government; and

8) is unlikely to sue the Trump Administration should it further withhold resources from Virginia.

3) accused Jones of being a political partisan despite his actions in 1 and 2 showing his own blatant partisanship;

4) removed Virginia from the ERA lawsuit as one of his first acts as AG;
I generally agree. I voted before the texts came out and was disgusted by them.

While Jones lost support afterwards, it was still a race against someone who:

1) asked Jones to drop out despite not asking Trump to drop out after Trump publicly called for the execution of his political enemies;
The party was clearly in poor taste and tone deaf, but whether the party was paid for by tax payers is unsubstantiated.

On the other hand, the transportation could have cost that much and I wonder if $3.4 million is an underestimate for the cost of that party.

Maybe this is the MAGA establishment punishing Youngkin for coming up with a plan to feed Virginians in the absence of SNAP.
I love ranked choice voting, even if it means having a poll worker ask me if I need it explained to me for the thirtieth time. (Exaggeration, I think I’ve only voted this way three or four times with only one or two poll workers asking each time.)

I fear the immediate retribution coming from the administration, but also think that such revenge could loosen Trump’s grip on his base.
I generally agree. I would not drop the culture war stuff entirely, but I would turn the messaging around. Miyares spent four years as AG wasting money going down culture war rabbit holes. It was pathetic. The culture war is a distraction from solving everyday problems and Dems need to say that.
I wonder how many Virginia Delegates thought they were in safe districts but lost anyway.
Republicans today were saying that the Dems were using the shutdown for today’s elections and that they will try to open tomorrow.
The Kalshi prediction market has flipped within the last hour and the probability of a Jones win now > than a Miyares win. Much closer race than before the day started.
Jay Jones is a tough one to get behind, especially for someone who doesn’t live in Virginia. If your only data point is Jones’ texts, you likely don’t know about Miyares’ wasteful culture war crusade and that Miyares will let Trump do anything illegal to Virginians without recourse.
