Yes! I enjoy seeing the cosplay/fashion mix
That was so much fun!!!!
And last but not least- PLEASE be nice. Please be patient. Please help keep the stores clean (don't leave trash, drinks, etc.) and please remember that things are gonna get chaotic and busy, so please be mindful!!

Thank you all so much ❤️🥹
7- don't ask for special cuts (ex. "I need 3 one yard cuts of this fabric"). Depending on what it is and if you're nice, exceptions can be made, but we're technically not allowed to.
8- we probably know just as much as you do about the stores closing.
4- if you're getting fabric cut, please be ready with your measurements. If you need help, then be open to suggestions on how much to get.
5- don't hold the fabric while it's being cut. You may think you're helping, but employees actually get in trouble for it.
3- if there's anything you decide not to take, and you can't put it back where it was, just bring it to the register or cutting counter. Don't leave it in some random place or where it doesn't belong. It makes putting things back difficult or trying to find things even harder.
1- use your gift cards and coupons ASAP. They might not be good for long.
2- stay calm. Idk why people go feral with sales. Just shop as normal without destroying the store pls!
Hi there! As we approach the closing of JoAnn stores, here's a 🧵 from an employee (me!) to advise the cosplay community and crafters out there, with how to help with a positive end to this beloved store.
Someone looking to start a business, should consider opening up a fabric store.
I hope you feel better!!!

Here's a little painting technique that I did a few years ago; a super easy version of a verdigris. I took acrylics and mixed into a spray bottle of Mod Podge. I then sprayed onto the pieces, making sure to focus on all the grooves, and wiping away any excess.

Here's how I made bracers for my cosplay!
Although contact cement is not my favorite, it's what I find works best for pleathers and similar fabrics.
This also shows that you don't need a separating zipper.
Hope you like it ❤️

Here's how I made my shoulder piece for my Magik cosplay! I used EVA foam and foam clay!

Slowly reloading my favorite cosplay photos! Y’shtola was my pride and joy costume! I spent way too long on it. She’s retired for now, but I’ll pull her out again one day!

Y’shtola is from Final Fantasy XIV

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.
