Except if you live in a place (like Toronto) where drivers seem to actively want to kill you while cycling and our premier wants to remove the bike lanes.

Seriously tho, that must skew the avg lifespan stats
Will reserve judgement til it comes out then!
I usually love your content, but I am not understanding the metric selection here at all. 2004-09 compared to 2004-25 is just .... Odd. Can you explain why you used it?

Also agree with the other posters, Germany, NL and NZ should be shown too.
You also can't have a "word of the year" on whose definition nobody can agree...or guess..... At least skibidi made sense.
Location location etc. but left is double the right, minimum.
Stop apologizing to Trump, please. Thanks. 🍻
@toronto.ca @mayoroliviachow.ca @ttcalerts.bsky.social why on earth would we ...shut down surface transit.... In the event of a jays win? People have jobs and lives to get on with. Diversions in the Skydome area sure, but this is a bad move, guys. So not World Class . ...
So weird, the city just seems to love doing peculiar anti-transit stuff. I’m sure roads aren’t gonna be closed to drivers!
I'm hopeful testing is not necessarily reflective of full operation.....
Ah I see the name now. Not one of the frequent fliers I know about, sadly there are many of these people out there 😕
Who is it?

Also the faux environmentalist NIMBY arguments drive me the most insane. There are actual environmental problems to fix, and these chuds use biodiversity to argue against being able to reuse a building so I can grab a sandwich down the street
It's not open yet though... Do you know if Finch will have signal priority?
Mississauga -- Brought to you by Tall+Sprawl
Central banks are basically one trick ponies.... As they should be, if they are to remain nominally "independent of government".

Bottom line, onus is on governments to ...y'know, make policy 🫠
My day job is so exhausting and I'm sort of sick so I can't summon the energy for this item, but am so disappointed even the milquetoast approach was watered down. This city isn't serious.
Exactly. Sometimes a supportive rich family makes drug and alcohol addiction worse, because they're there to fix you and get you rehab and let you stay rent free in their home.
Am I allowed to call myself and my partner the Keelesdale Neighbourhood Association? Because .....
Used electricity? Been able to read a book because you went to primary school? Breathed (relatively) clean air that isn't full of poison smog? Drank clean water? Didn't get attacked by pirates? 🤯🤯 Libertarians are so ignorant.
My crappy city councillor when I was an undergrad, making the argument to spend like $1B more to bury an LRT through the affluent parts of the city (Toronto) instead of surface running it.
The right leaning media is going all in on "OMG cities are hellscapes!" messaging because it inflames their voters and provides cover for bad policies.

I hate how we seem to be eager to ape the US.
I feel for staff sometimes. It is really hard to do a good job with zoning. It is a giant clusterfxxx in most municipalities, TO included. Then all the "public" meetings that mainly only old affluent retired ppl have the bandwidth for and the multiple councillors to appease...
